General

(Just like why Singapore Airlines costs more than Malaysia Airlines) While Young Scientists and Science Adventures may appear similar, they have very different backgrounds, missions, and value propositions—much like different airlines serving the same route.

Science Adventures is owned, published, and produced in Singapore by Singaporeans. From its inception, it has been created primarily in English and enriched by experienced local publishers such as Shinglee Publishers Pte Ltd and later Singapore Asian Publishers (SAP)—leaders in school textbooks and assessments in Singapore.

The content of Science Adventures aligns with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), making it suitable not only for Singapore students but also for learners across ASEAN countries and China.

Our guiding philosophy is:“Learn English the Science Way.” Students build scientific knowledge while strengthening their English language skills.

Young Scientists is a Malaysian publication, wholly owned by a Malaysian publisher. Each YS is produced in Malay, then later translated into English to tap into Singapore’s large English-speaking market. It is produced in Malaysia and, to date, has achieved strong earnings in Singapore dollars. Its content closely follows the Malaysian education system, with limited expansion beyond it.

20 years ago, a student from Pei Chun shared why he switched from Young Scientists to Science Adventures: This is what he said “What is written in Young Scientists, I already learn in class. Science Adventures covers more than what we study and introduces new scientific topics.”

This feedback affirmed our belief that Singapore’s curious, “kiasu” learners want more depth, more knowledge, and more challenge.

Just as Singapore Airlines commands a premium through quality, expertise, and global standards, Science Adventures delivers greater depth, broader learning, and international relevance—beyond any single national syllabus.
